Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a very simple mechanical exfoliation technique. A surgical blade is used to gently remove vellus facial hair and outermost cells of the epidermis to produce smoother, brighter and younger looking skin. It also enhances the penetration of the skincare products and improves the application of make up. Dermaplaning is then followed by a mask to increase hydration. You can expect baby smooth, brighter looking skin with no vellus hair up to four weeks afterward.
How treatment worksWe start the treatment by double cleansing and toning the skin. We follow on this by exfoliating the skin using a surgical blade to take away all the dead skin and vellus hairs from the surface of the face. We then use a combination of oxygen face mask designed to pump moisture in to the skin followed by our radiance serum and we finish with a nourishing mosituriser with an SPF50+. The treatment will take approximately 1 hour. Make up can be applied the following day.
Please note that terminal hair must be waxed 72 hours before the procedure. We are not changing the structure of the hair therefore the hair will continue to grow as it was before.
Terminal hairs are thick dense hairs that are often deeply pigmented so they appear much darker than vellus hairs. They also have deeper follicles than vellus hair so they start growing from further down in the dermis. Women develop excessive body or facial hair due to higher than normal levels of androgens, including testosterone.
